mango and banana
WHAD UP! chantelle and amanda here chilling at the internet cafe once again. we finally finished pouring concrete and let me tell you, that was no easy task. but with a little help from the singing birds of the team and the constant verbal encouragement, we were able to finish within an hour. we went through “i like to move it” to “happy working song” to “build me up buttercup” to “allstar” and finally with the EPIC “WE ARE THE CHAMPIONSSSSSSSSSSS”! i know you guys want to see the pictures and we assure you that there are at least 700 on blake’s camera alone. it was cool to see everyone step it up regardless of your ability or gender, everyone was working equally hard because we all wanted to finally get to that point. and right after, it’s always amazing to be able to run to the beach and bathe yourself in salt water (and the occasional crab pinch) to rid yourself of all the nasty concrete and dirt.
last night was awesome as we wrapped up the evening with a jam session thanks to sean miles and his guitar. we went through all the songs he knew and settled down into the night with “stand by me” and the countless number of hillsongs as we worshiped. thanks so much everyone for the comments and the verses and the compliments and encouragement- you guys don’t even know how much it means to us. we wouldn’t be here without all of you and your continued support day in and day out. so until next wednesday, when we’re finally flying into that LAX airport,
have a mango smoothie
and think of us.
i love rice
hey there! it’s chantelle along with allee, sarah, amanda, sean miles, and nadia hanging out at the internet cafe before we head on over to lunch. it’s been an amazing trip so far and i can now see that ryan makes sure he lets you guys know every single detail down to the last drop of sweat. we’re all hanging in there fine, we head down to the beach like every single day. we’ve been snorkeling, sailing, walking, we’ve tried shakes, to belot, to rice every single day. we’ve gotten familar with the neighborhood kids and they call us by our names along with the respectable title of “tito” “ate” or “kuya”. i can’t believe that we’ve been here for about a week now. and don’t worry about anything because blake is snapping away. today a few of us went down to the school to talk to a bunch of kids while the rest of the team started pouring cement. i’m excited to see what the next few days have in store for us as God just continues to use us in big ways, small ways, and ways that we will never know. every smile, every high five, every “hello” goes a long way. today at the school a lot of the kids took out their cameras and wanted pictures with us as if we were celebrities or super stars (they all really want to go to hollywood, it’s like their goal in life). but really, it’s great to understand that with the message and love that we share, the only person they or we will ever want to remember is Jesus!
alrighty so today is jessica’s birthday so be sure to drop her a comment and wish her a happy 23rd!
